Why is BTS so popular?

BTS’s popularity can be attributed to four factors.

1. Song Themes:

With K- pop’s popularity expanding, they’re literally making content that people really want to hear! As per Billboard, their album ‘Love Yourself: Tear,’ which is performed in Korean, earned the first exclusively foreign-language No. 1 album in more than 12 years. Not just that, but many people believe that the theme of their songs has contributed to their popularity. Whereas many K-pop songs are about couples and romance, BTS addresses issues that other bands may not, such as abuse, exclusivity, and psychological well-being.

2. The immaculate performances:

It’s pointless to have catchy tunes if you can’t even sell them to the rest of the world – and BTS has this down perfectly. They’ve acquired a devoted following of fans who have fallen out of love with their songs even more as a result of their sophisticated dance steps and incredibly stunning music videos. The group’s choreographer, Mr. Son, explains: One of the most crucial variables appears to be music videos. Artists’ thoughts can be transmitted more efficiently. BTS practices for hours to perfect their performances. They were putting in 12 to 15 hrs. a day to perfect their premiere show. It obviously paid off.

3. The role of the internet:

The web, social media, in particular, has contributed a lot to the group’s success. Suga stated on BBC Radio 1: I believe we were extremely fortunate to be born at the correct time. We wouldn’t be as popular without social media. The guys earned a Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist in 2018, beating out heavy-hitters like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez. They were the very first K-Pop group to receive an award. We really can’t believe we’re here on this platform at the Billboard Music Awards, the band remarked during their victory speech.

4. The BTS army:

Hardly a group can be successful without its fans, and BTS has some of the most devoted fans the industry has ever seen, with 19.4 million Twitter followers and 23.7 million Instagram followers. The supporters, dubbed as the ARMY, submitted an incredible 300 million online votes to assure the group win their Billboard award. In autumn 2017, they viewed the ‘DNA’ video on YouTube 50 million times in only one month! Fans spend countless hours publishing information, sending texts, and showing their affection for the seven lads on countless pages, accounts, and websites set up all around the world by passionate admirers.
